Thank you so much Eric. Now that bluug is back and looking better than ever, I can happily post random thoughts again.

Can’t wait for the summer, schools needs to end so we can all hang out more.

I keep reaching for the stars, but each time I stumble and fall. The joys of not sleeping but still dreaming.

And so I’m finally about to move to college, where the best 4 years of my life will happen. Though even now when I’m counting in hours and not days, it still hasn’t dawned upon me that things are changing. It feels like it is just another move, a change of location.

Man, I’m going to miss all of you guys. I’ll look forward to the holidays when we can hang out again.

Now it’s time to work again XD.

I’m not giving a speech, but if I could’ve, this is what it would have been. Thank you everyone for the amazing four years we’ve had. I’m going to miss everyone.

As usual, there are probably spelling and grammar errors.

High School, an institution where I have been taught not just things from my books, but also some of the rules to life. It has been a very long and hard road, but we all made it and came at the end. The future ahead of us will be difficult, but with the skills and knowledge that we have gained from high school, there is no doubt that we’ll be ready.

When I first entered high school, I was one of those students that believed in doing everything 1 month early, in order to get it out of the way and to relieve myself of that pressure. I quickly learned that was the wrong approach. There were two problems to this idea. The first is that if it was a group project, my group would not want to do it early, and thus I would end up doing all the work. The second is that if it was an individual project, the teacher will inevitably change the assignment with enough student complaint – and there is always enough – and thus doing the project early is nothing but a waste of time.

Studying is a myth. I can remember when I used to believe in the idea of studying, but then I consistently got beaten by people who never did. Nothing hurts more than knowing someone else didn’t have to study at all for a test you spent 20 hours reviewing for. And so by senior year, I’ve gained this new insight. Never study for a test. The reason is simple. If you don’t study and do poorly, you can blame it on the teacher, textbook, or just the stupidity of the class. If you do well however, you can then get into other people’s faces about it, because they must have obviously studied to get their grades. Oh, and most importantly, if the test is curved, not studying produces the same results as studying, a grade that is just too high.

Now onto the important matter of cheating. We all know and understand the concept of “Academic Honesty” and “don’t use SparkNotes”. Almost everyone here has learned the fundamental rule here, which is that one has to be caught for it to be considered “cheating”. And like any hard working student, we have all learned our respective ways to get around these rules. Hiding stuff in our pencil cases, storing formulas in our graphing calculator, looking over at a friends test while stretching, quickly asking someone something, we’ve done everything. And the glory of this is that very few of us have been caught, and we have thus still maintained our “Academic Honesty”.

The rules about electronics are another myth. Almost every teacher starts off the year by saying that they will confiscate ALL electronics that they see, but this rarely happens. Most of the time, there is only a warning, and the other half of the times, they just pretend they don’t see it. Even better than the smaller objects like cell-phones are the bigger objects like laptops and netbooks. Not a single teacher has challenged a student on their use of a laptop, even though it can watch movies, play games, and message friends. It makes me wonder what they would have done if someone came in with a desktop…

Lastly, I am sure that every student in this room has worked on this final skill of high school. Procrastination. After learning that doing stuff early is a waste of time, it naturally and logically suggests that doing things at the last minute is the best thing possible. For one thing, you won’t be doing it alone, with so many of your classmates working on the same essay or project, nor will you be forced to change something once your teacher decides to do something different. No, by doing it the night before, you can fit everything you wanted in. Besides, we all know that we work best under pressure. Look at this speech for example, I started this a mere 8 hours before our graduation, and I’m pretty sure you all enjoyed it.

But as I go through this list, you might wonder how exactly does this translate into the skills needed for the future. Well, I first talked about the idea of doing things early, and how that in reality is nothing but a punishment. In the future, we know we should distribute the work evenly to others, and to then have everyone report back to you with what they have done. Thus, you get all the rewards of others work, much like most group projects. Many would think that studying will be done once they are done with school in general, including college and possible graduate school. However, reality has shown that no one really needs to know the rules, since when something goes wrong, you can always claim ignorance. We’ve seen the banks and even Presidents know nothing about things they should’ve known, and been able to walk away – usually with more money than they started with – with only a small slap on the wrist. The moral of this story: Studying is not needed. Cheating is another thing that we have been taught in school to be a bad thing. However, the real world has shown cheating rarely gets punished. Look at those industries where you can use your own “environmental regulators” to show that not only are you 1 mpg cars fuel efficient, but even possibly green. And besides, without cheating, the great capitalist system that we have today would not exist, and I’m sure none of you here want to be considered a communist. Now onto the use of electronics. This has to be one of the worst crimes of high school, because in the real world, who doesn’t use electronics? Now with our skill of pretending to take notes on our laptop or getting important calls from home, none of us will ever be stuck in a boring meeting. And about procrastination, we have proven to ourselves and each other that procrastination brings out the best of our work. And if in the real world your boss does not believe it, just show him or her. I’m sure they’ll be amazed by what you can do.

But no graduation speech can be complete without thanking the faculty. I would like to first thank the lunch ladies, because without them, I would be probably $1000 richer and a lot less ramen in my body. Second, I would like to thank my math teachers, especially Mr. Becker, who showed me the light about statistics and its ability to misrepresent data. Next, I would like the thank the history teachers, because without them, I would probably never known the difference between a liberal and a conservative liberal. Forth, I need to give tremendous praise to the science department, because without them, I would have never learned half of these skills. A lastly, I would like to thank my English teachers, because without them, I would have ended every line with a comma and spelled every work incorrectly, not that you would have known.

However, I’m still missing two groups of people. I would have to thank our custodians, because without clean bathrooms, it would have been difficult to explain my many bathroom trips – and yes, the bathrooms are clean. Most importantly, I would like the thank CollegeBoard, sine without CollegeBoard, my world of AP tests would have ended.

Thank you everyone, the previous four years have been an amazing time. And remember, Google is always better than you.

One more week. I can’t believe that after so many days of saying “Only one more year,” “Only one more month,” “Only two more weeks,” the final days are already here. Now, in less than a week, we’re officially done with high school (that is not to say we weren’t done with high school a long time ago.) I wonder if all this hype is really going to be there, or will we just exit the stage like it’s another day.

A mix of thoughts as I think them. No order. Reading starcraft while not typing >.<

You’re right, I should be happy with what I have, and stop regretting the things that I have failed to get. There is no use in thinking back on the past, wishing to change that detail, wanting to redo that moment. It’s already passed, I need to stop looking back.

As much as I have to regret certain things that I’ve done, it’s happened and I can’t go back and change them. I still regret all of my mistakes, but I can’t let that get back to haunt me. I know that things could have been much different, that there are so many things that I did wrong. But that’s that, no more, I’m done, hopefully never again will I repeat those problems.

And now that the year is ending, I just don’t want it to anymore. I know that we have one more week of school to do something interesting, and one more summer left to do some epic stuff, but somehow, that just won’t be enough. In a way, I guess I feel like I’m trying to postpone the inevitable end where college starts. And as much as I want to pretend all our current bonds will remain the same, they inevitably won’t. I’ll get to know some of you more, and lose contact with others, but that’s just reality.

Best friends? You’re right, it’s hard to list friends in an order, but I guess that just means I’ll have to try hard and give you that title. I hope that bffs do exist.

Man, I’m not ready to say goodbye to anyone yet, even if its for a short time.

“I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.” ~ Bilbo Baggins

Note: This is some pretty bad writing.

Man, it is so hard to write a decent post about high school. I think I have about 4 attempts saved on my computer…

High school has come and gone, and the after four years of fun, games, studying, and regrets, I don’t know what to say. I can say that I feel accomplished, making friends, succeeding in some classes, enjoying the days off. Or I can look at my regrets, cry over my mistakes and wish I could build a time machine to change certain things. But both of those views are too extreme. Of course then, the answer has to be somewhere in between, though I’m not too sure where it should go.

It’s hard for me to think of any achievements, since what comes back the fastest are the thing that I failed to do. I was not the best friend, nor the best student, and even when I’m not comparing myself to others, I know I could’ve done better. But I have to be honest with myself. If I could redo high school, I know that the results would be about the same. I rarely learn from my mistakes, rarely am able to make a change.

But I guess this is what college will be for. Not starting over, because that means making the same mistakes over and over again. And I’m not going to making a 180 degree turn (because there are some aspects I want to keep) or a complete 360 (whoever came up with that doesn’t know what a circle is). What I will do is try and improve. For me, I am in the shadow of all my friends. And while we all go our different ways, I’ll have to try and not disappoint myself anymore. I’ve already did that enough.
